Now it has happened. For the first time has my daughter gone crazy for a book. Like really crazy. She has always enjoyed reading and very often she comes to me with a book wanting to be read. But this is something different. Now she has found a book she can't stop reading. Six books actually.

It all started when we wanted to know if our daughter would already understand something about television. From Norwegian-TV it's coming this program "Drømmehagen" ("In The Night Garden") which is very much like Teletubbies. Weird little creatures jumping around in a psychedelic forest. And of course our daughter felt in love. We don't let her see it very often but obviously often enough that she recognizes the theme song and starts to dance.

Anyway, I happened to be in a bookstore and I saw that they had made books out of this Drømmehagen-program. There it was, a cute little box which included six little books of these characters, which are by the way called for example "Hinkelpinkel", "Hoppsi Deisi" and "Plinky Plonk". They live in this forest and there they do all kind of cool stuff like dance around, sing and always brush their teeth before going to bed.

It's amazing how well my child can express herself even when she can't even talk yet. She just crawles to you with a small book in her hand, gives the book to you and makes a very demanding sound. And she keeps making those sounds until you take her to your lap and read the book. After first book she gets you another one and after that another one until you have read all the six books about "Plinky Plonk" and then it's time to start all over again with the first book... I think she could keep doing this for hours if there would be someone who wouldn't go nuts after first fifteen minutes. "Yes, here they go to sleep AGAIN and before that they brush their teeth AGAIN..."

Well, what can you do, she loves reading. I know where she has got that one. As you can see from the picture she still loves to eat those books too.
